July 19, Solvang

Thursday night at the Big Bopper

Miniature horse farm.  Now, my excuses.  Had to use 2 cameras because of a dead battery, and also the phone. So, these are out of order.  I took over 200, but refrained from posting more than 67 so far today.

Full grown ponies

Lanny making friends

Sooooo Cute!

Didn't try to count, but there were 4 fields with a lot of pretty little horses in them

Didn't get a picture, but there was one field that had all tiny paint ponies in it

Lanny making more horse friends

New Farm!  These are miniature Donkeys

A petting farm, many different animals

That little one is a week old.  The owner lady was carrying it around in her arms for awhile

Without someone standing next to them, it's hard to tell how small thes really are.  The baby is the size of a big dog

The line up. Ready to ride up Stagecoach road

We all enjoyed seeing and petting some of the animals

Turkey and Crested Ducks

Cold Springs Tavern.  This used to be a Stage Coach Stop and horse change station

We started the day in nice bright sunshine, but it was pretty cool out until around noon

Skid was our Fearless Leader for the day

Tiny horses

More tiny horses

Too Cute

These two played for a long time.

Soon to be a mother again

Friendly old Turkey

Miniature Donkeys

Week old baby

The little donkeys were cute, but the little horses were my favorites

Lunch time

Last Donkey shot I'l post

VROC people looking a tthe livestock

Goats

The Owner Lady gave Skid and Sandy a little private tour

She just was putting down the week old baby.  She had been carrying it around in her arms like a big dog.

They liked Skid

Nice ears

Zebra?  Donkey?  Horse?  Maybe a little of each

Entering the new route into the GPS

Time to take off the jackets, it's warming up

A favorite place.  Cold Springs Tavern.  The food it very good, and it atmosphere is dark and rustic.

There was a classic car club here when we arrived, didn't think we would get a table.  But, they were leaving, and we discovered they had a back room I didn't know about, so we were seated without a wait

The old Stage Stop had several out buildings.  All have interesting history

This is the 3rd year a group of us vroc'er have stopped here, hope to do it again next year

Little gift shop.

Don and Wes

Do we eat here?  Or find somewhere else?  We ate there

Skid and Sandy took over "Teri's Pedestal" :-)  Over looking the Chumash valley

This is the spot where 2 years ago, Cranky offered some gas to a sport bike rider that ran out.  Since it wasn't high test gas, the rider turned him down and called AAA.  Takes all kinds!

Neverland.  The road wasn't blocked off, but a guard came out and asked us to move since we were in a private drive.  There wasn't a sign that said Keep Out or No Trespassing, guess you're just suppose to know.

Michael Jackson had an air stirp, but it was shut down.  Because planes could "Never-land"

People are patiently (or slightly impatiently) waiting so I could get some pictures

Ray Mitchell has been riding with us the last couple of days.  He has a nice new Voyager Trike, and he handles it well.

The Guard didn't see Lanny hiding behind the large tree, so he didn't get kicked out. :-)

Through these magical gates.....some weird people have passed

Ostrich dusting

I think the Black ones are the males.  This is the farm that our egg breakfast came from a few days ago

This may have been the one that laid Cat's egg

Dinner at AJ Spurs.  17 of us showed up

Peter and his cousin, Zaki. He's from Bulgaria, she lives in Switzerland, where she's a coach and professional vollyball player.
Peter is a vroc member and lives in Santa Barbara.  His cousin just flew in yesterday, she doesn't speak English.  Peter will be a good addition to the So. Cal. vroc group.  He had never been on a bike until 2.5 years ago.  Bought a Vulcan from an eBay seller.  Has put over 26K miles on it already.  Nice people!

Decided no to post a LOT of food pictures, but this is Jim Sigelaar's plate.  It came with Soup, beans, fried potatoes, Salad, and a after dinner drink or Root Beer float.  Then entree was Baby back ribs, with a blackened Rib eye.  Not a bad little dinner!

Back at the Kaw Pasture, Howard, Linda, and Brian are preparing for the door prize drawing.  They have handled the raffle for the California rallies (and WWR in Kentucky) for about 12 years.  And do a fine job!

Under the Spreading Wisteria at our motel

James has been cleaning up his "girl friends" bike

The rooms have a homey atmosphere.  The Motel managers ride a Voyager, and are very nice. This Kaw Pasture is starting to seem like "Home in California"

Our own little Court yard to park in.  The pool is right behind it.

Lanny filling out his tickets.

Almost ready to ride out for dinner, the drawing will be later this evening

After having a Jeep for over 20 years, Howard and Linda just bought this cute little Kia

"Pardon me, Roy...........is that the Cat that Chewed your New Shoes".....................

Lanny has a beautiful Cajun Rib eye to eat.  But, he just got a new phone and is so busy trying to figure it out, he's neglecting his meal

Peter and his Cousin.  Will get her name later today

Skid and Sandy both had bacon wrapped fillets.  Sandy's small, Skids is big.  That sounds about right

Today is Cat's Birthday.  Since Linda, Sandy and Don also had birthdays this week, the waitress brought out large desserts for all of them

Time for the goodies!

Cranky and Ed from the Bay Area

Howard on right (Nitelite)  His son Brian, with his lady friend Amber. And Cat's red head

Crank and Skid visiting with some "non-riders" that were staying in the motel
