Deadwood. Wednesday, 1st half

Jamey T. and Melanie are the rally hosts.  And a fine job they do.

Walmart parking lot. 2 of the group rides ended up here in the same lot, but parked in different places.  Our group just rode Spearfish Canyon..at an excessive rate of speed :-)

Malachi rolled in on his beautiful Cross Country Victory

One of his saddle bags is larger than both of mine.

Joe (Malachi) from Silt, CO

The "other" American Made Motorcycle

This used to be a Credit Union in Sturgis.  For several years, we set up our Kwik Kamp trailer booth here.  Was large enough to park out 53' rig.  A selling area, and room to make installations of hitches and options on the trailers as they were sold.  Lots of memories from this pavement

On the way to Bear Butte, we rode a few blocks down Main street.  More pictures down the way some.

These Buffalo need to read the road signs better.  They are about 4 miles from the Buffalo Chip Campground.  They should be over there.

Sunflowers and blue flowers in the grass lands.

"Oh give me a home..................."

Cooling down after a somewhat spirited ride down the Canyon from Lead, SD to get back down here on the Prairie.

Was nice to have Croppy and Charles along with us this morning

Bear Butte.  A sacred Native American site.

This big boy fell off his Nickel.

Full Throttle Saloon, next door to the Buffalo Chip Campground in Sturgis, SD

Workers gearing the place up for the sort of big rally that starts in a couple of weeks.  About the same size as our vroc rally :-)

Big Place

The Bar has it's own 18 wheel semi truck

"You meet the nicest people on a Honda"   I think that's a Gold Wing

The bar tender used to be a basketball player

We walked around Main Street looking for a place to eat.  Most of the shops are in transformation from being local shops to being Motorcycle related item for about 2 weeks.  Many of them hang sheets over their stock, and tables are set up with everything you can imagine

T-shirts and other specialty apparel are big sellers

We ate in a 50's style diner.  I'm sure the food was better in the 50's and a LOT cheaper

A small town of around 6,000 will host around 500,000 in a couple of weeks.  If you haven't seen it, you just can't comprehend what it looks like

The digital sign said 86 degrees when we came out after lunch

Lot of "high dollar" items come out of here

Black Hills Gold and other jewelry that Riders will like and buy

Been here, done this

Sandy, Lanny, and Skid are thinking it's about time to get back on the bikes

2012 T-shirts were selling 2 for $5.  I bought a couple

We're loading up.  This was our Sturgis experience for this year.
