Kingman Museums

The Last Supper.  We're with Ed & Carl having some Cracker Barrel.  We'll latch up with them again in Solvang in a few days.

Skid and Sandy liked the stove from Canada!

Carl and Ed Anderson, Sandy, and Skid

Pretty Kingman Flowers
Sandy, Skid, and Carl & Ed Anderson.  A laid back Sunday watching NASCAR on their Big Screen HD TV with Surround Sound! I dropped 5 places in the VROC Fantacy league.  Not a good race day :-(

The cactus at the Kingman place.  Skid had been drawing blood bumping into this baby.

Skid was in the mood for a pastrami Hot Dog, so we went to Scotty's.

Sandy and Skid pointing out that this is "Scotty's" place

We really enjoyed this place.  The specialize in Broasted Chicken, but have a pretty good menu.  The service was excellent.  I forgot to take a picture of Skid's special dog, but it will show up on his blog I'm sure.
Took this from the parking lot of our breakfast cafe.  This was one of the "destinations of the day"

Taken from the window of the Calico Cafe.  We went to the Roadrunner again, but it was closed on Saturdays.

Skid makes a new friend

Barely room for 2 on this nice little little bench

Inside the Power House Route 66 Museum.  This is one of the players in the Wild West show across the street in the park.  Several 30 minute skits.  We watched for awhile, but it was mostly for the kids.

The Big Sandy River in full Silt.

From "The Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck

What the Hackberry Store looked like in 1920.

Some great exhibits about travel on the "Mother Road"

When it rained, the going got tough.

1954 Studebaker Champion. The lowest priced in their line up of cars

Some of the old Burma Shave verses.  There are a few on the road, but all the originals have been stolen

Painting of downtown Kingman.

Some good cartoon paintings

Another one
The show has started.  The actors did a good job, but it was sort of corny.

There were 5 or 6 Vendors set up in one of the Kingman Parks

Kokopelli, with a couple of Arizona flags of the past

Hand woven Mohave Indian decoration

Skid found a spread sheet from an old mine.  As a retired accountant, he got pretty excited

Ringtail Dessert Cats

Nice fat Rattler!

Most people think a Javalina is a wild pig. But, they are from the rodent family.  Nasty things.
