Enroute Aebelskiver Rally

Cozy corner in Paula's Pancake Restaurant in Solvang.

When you order fresh fruit, it comes still growing!

My Danish pancakes.  They were just "melt in your mouth" tender and delicious.  Served with real "light" maple syrup.

We're seeing these birds is several places. Need to check and find out what they represent.
Cat & James are our "Rally Organizers".  They sure picked a fun and interesting place!  The motel is great, (except for no WiFi in our room) but there is a lot to do and see around here.
Wednesday about 8 AM.  We're at Cat & Jim's place in Fillmore, CA.  Cat was in cooking....Home made fluffy biscuits, sausage gravy, Home made sausage, eggs, Juice and coffee.  It was deee-licious!  In fact, we were just digging in, and I forgot to take a picture of it all :-)

The cook and her handyman.

Came here to buy a trailer.  But......it's just not cost effective to haul an empty trailer the 800 some miles home.  So, I bought Jim's Mean Streak.  Now I have a Vulcan to ride at the VROC rally!

Got 'er all loaded up and ready to travel.  We have about a hundred miles left to get to Solvang.

Saying our good-bys.  We won't see Jim and Cat again for at least 3 hours :-)

Was surprised to see about 12 bikes already in the parking lot when we arrived.  Parking was good.  Skid get a spot very close to the motel for his RV, I was able to park the truck and trailer close to the room.

Several of the PNW guys from Washington State are here.

It's nice to see SLOTS here!  He's giving out Hostess a hug.

Commuting all the way to Northern Canada for work doesn't leave a lot of time to clean up your ride.  Especially when you have a new Vaquero to keep up too :-)  So, took the Meanie to the car wash to blast off some bugs.

Relaxing by he pool.  We're getting ready to head out for some food

A little elbow grease and it came out pretty good.  will give it a good detail when I get home to my lift.
Cranky, Howard and Mac Guy are talking up to Skid and Sandy.  We usually get rooms on the lower floor, but had to settle for upstairs this time.  The rooms are very nice, but we have no WiFi in ours.  I'm using an Air Card.

Sandy likes this guy!

Lots of tourist traffic in Solvang.  It's a VERY interesting little city.  Many interesting shops and fun stuff to do.

Several of these large Windmills here in the downtown area.  The famous Split Pea Restaurant is right down the street.

Some of us had dinner here at the Little Mermaid.

I'm going to post just a FEW of the pictures I took of shops.  There are probably several hundred.

One of several Christmas Stores

This bookstore/Internet Cafe was closed...errr, make that SHUT.

A famous Danish Bakery.  There are too many to mention here.

These two are right next to a leather shop.

Another Windmill

More food.  No lack of dining spots here.

Skid checking out a Bit of Denmark.

Sandy checking a menu

A nicely flowered Arch in front of a garden shop

We ran into VSP on the way back to the motel.  He was eating a pastry.

The stories are flying!

About 20 bikes already here!  There is another section were people are sitting around visiting.  The Rally is off to a good start!
Last morning in Kingman. Sandy is out picking plums for the road.  We've enjoyed eating them all week.

Skid is taking a picture of Magic Mountain/Six Flags in Valencia, CA.  It's closed now, but all the ride are still standing.

A very nice Walmart.  We stopped and set up at a Camping World, but it was busy and hot, so came up here to a nicer area.  This is really upscale, it has a Blimpies instead of McDonalds.

It was 90 some when we got here, but with the humidity, it felt a lot hotter.
Nice landscaping at the Santa Clarita Walmart West.
