April 8th, Hill Country Ride 14

Early morning ride to Luckenbach.  Stopped to fill my mug with McDonalds free coffee!  Until April 13th.  Very cool.  Grandpa D had never been out here before so Biglefti and I showed it to him before we left on the group ride.

In Kerrville.  Stewey is looking for clamps to mount his highway pegs on. We hit a couple of shops and didn't find any.

This Valero Station had Sugar Free French Vanilla!  What a treat!

Museum in Bandera.  Rode down there to have lunch at a place I knew about and liked.  We found it, but it was closed.  Large place right off the main highway, big porch with benches and tables in front.  It's looking for a new owner. The end of another era.

City Hall and Marshall's office.  All the parking in front was for handicapped.  We had to limp a lot when we got off the bikes.

Another bike shop just on the South side of Fredericksbury. We enjoyed out stop there

The pastures are getting green.  Was told this morning by a locat that because of the cool temp and lack of rain, the flowers are late this year, and might not show up at all.

Some nice antique bikes in there. And LOVE the floor decor!

They had 3 of these "Scootsters" in here.  Never seen such a thing!

Nice shirt

Mark needs this.  Wanda is trying to figure out how she could ride in the basket.

We need one of these so Pat and I could go on rides with our friends Ed and Carl.  Carl has one about like this. :-)

They didn't have the parts Stewey needed, but the owner was a very nice guy.  It was a fun visit.
The last Luckenbach shot of the day

Ice cream at the Wild Seed Farm

These Hummingbird feeders are rated Number 1!

VROC bikes

Some visiting, some walking, some in back listing to the music

Kicking back at the motel

Bill, (Southern Draw) had some parts fall off while trailering his bike.

Redneck bike cover

Jason, Southern Draw's brother, is making a few Harley repairs.

Some of us visited the Wild Seed Farm

Bonnets of Blue

Stewey enjoying some ice cream

Lots of different kinds of plants for sale

And lots of colors

Nice place for a rest stop

A rather large Pinapple

A little early in the season for the real beauty of this place

Butterflies are starting to get out in the warm sun

The field behind the red is full of bluebonnets

Indian Paint brushes are just starting to come out

Lanny getting some pictures

Nice purse!  I think Susan has been to Mexico! :-)

All the way to Texas to see a perfectly shaped Saguaro

Texas Kaws, and  VROC Kaws

Lanny shooting Wanda and Mark

Vroc'ers, except for the foreign lady that offered to take our pictures.

While in Luckenbach, Gord (Stonewall) rode in on his rented BMW

Greetings all around for the big Canadian

Stonewall's first trip to this part of the country.

This post office was used for a long time, but since Luckenbach's population has dropped to 3, they can't justify keeping it open anymore

Lots of music has been played in this little tavern

They say, "Everybody's somebody, in Luckenbach"

You can order from inside or outside.

One of the "pickers".

Past and future events posted here

Lots of chickens here.  Just like Yuma

Bricks here for the VROC Hill Country Ride for 13 years. There has been a break for a couple of years. Thanks to Grandpa D. for putting it together again

Just one more chicken

Back to the Motel via Grape Town Road.  Except we got on the wrong road :-)

Wanda and Mark are enjoying the ride, they aren't too concerned that we're lost

Don (Bassman) visiting with Badger and checking out Susan's pretty bike

Laura snd Susan in the hospitality room
Leaving for dinner, we looked out the window and saw a "Peeping Mark"

Dinner at K-Bob's Steak House

Slammer got in just in time for dinner

19 of us, had a little wait to get a table.  Jim (wrongturn) and Katie aren't here yet.

Food was good and the visiting was even better

This will be a small rally in numbers, but, like any vroc gathering, the people make the ride worthwhile.

Jim and Katie get in.  They have spent the last couple of days riding all the roads in the Big Bend Country

Signing the bike sign

Slammer and Biglefti had never met. They are getting acquainted

I haven't seen this pretty face for at least a week!  (Katie, not necessarily Bill in the background)  LOL

A real pleasure to meet Jason, Bill's younger brother. A fine young man!

Yevette and Mal.  My "kids"

Stonewall, Coyote, and Stewey.  Gentleman.

Stubby looks good after a long ride all over the Big Bend Country.  I can just see Jim and Katie washing it up.
