Day 7. Group ride to Hermann, M0

The little "Half a Busa" is doing a fine job of keeping up!

A good ride to Hermann

Big Sign says the Road is CLOSED ahead  Flash and Brillo are caging it, so they are trying to find out if we can get through

Waiting at the road closed sign

Lanny and El Nomad decided to give it a shot.  They rode about mile on a bicycle trail, but eventually showed up in Hermann

Copperhead, the ride leader made a good decision and also a good route, and we saw some more nice country. Skid's GPS found a way to get there.

A VERY interesting old city

Old, Fat, Drunk people must live here. Bars, Winery's, tons of fine dining, and Antique shops seem to be the main activities.

Menu was posted outside.  Lots of good entrees with some very reasonable prices

From 1878

Getting ready to try the Wurst place in town

Lanny and Eric did get here, as well as Brillo and Deb, all went different directions.

A house in Hermann

Another place to eat.  There are also several Bed and Breakfasts here

The town is quiet today.  The day after Labor Day, when it was very busy

Nice Boots!

Cool

A hundred years newer than a lot of the buildings
o

This was our one of the destinations

Inside

Deb getting ready for Samples

We all had samples of 4 of the most popular flavors

My low carb lunch.  2 sausages, different flavors.  Served on a bed of sauerkraut, with flavored Red Cabbage, and a salad.  It was OK, but not exactly my favorite meal.

Most of the group

Some of the local products

Hibiscus Gin!  What will they think of next..............

Ladies room entrance

Another winery

Looked like a good place

Antique shop. One of many

Moon view from the motel

Just a little different camera setting

Skid and Sandy have a plate that looks just like mine

After our visit to Hermann, the Group sort of split up for different rides back to St. Clair.  The main ride went on to visit a Winery, and there were reports of everyone having a great day!  Time for us old people to call it a night.
