Texas 2015 HCR, 1st day

There she sits.  White Lightnin'.  Just waiting for a new owner!

All packed and ready for an early morning departure

This really isn't a Chili Burger.  It's a Burger at Chili's.

Friday morning, making miles on I-40.  And some Route 66

Lost count of the many times I've stood by this guy.

Will do it again.  There were 4 lady tourists that where having a good time.  I took their picture with one of their cameras, so they took mine.

Winslow is famous for about one thing.  The Eagles song.

A few years ago a fire destroyed a lot of the old buildings in the center of town, but it's been rebuilt pretty well

Have eaten here a few times.  Always VERY good.  Sometime, I'd like to spend the night here.  An original Harvey House Hotel.  The La Posada now.

This looks like it was buit in the 50's.  And never has been seriously remodeled.  But, it's still in business

Was looking for the drive up window.  But....they didn't have them back in The Day.

Navajo and Hopi Indians pretty much fill up Gallup. It's near (or maybe on) the Reservation

Lots of interesting businesses. The sell a lot of whole sale jewelry and and supplies to make more.

This sign used to be very bright, but it's fading over the years of exposure to the elements

I've stopped here on more than a dozen different motorcycles.  Riding. This time, it's on a trailer.  Do you see Kokopelli in this picture?  You can click on any picture to make it larger.

In case you didn't see him.............

I went on from here to spend the night in a Super 8 motel in Albuquerque, NM.  More tomorrow.
