Hualapai Mountain Lodge.  Early Birthday breakfast for Thelma

Kenny enjoying his 2nd cinnamon roll.  Broncos play today, he's a big fan. I think it's some kind of baseball team....

While eating, there was a severe Thunderstorm about half way up the mountain, at about 4000 feet elevation.  We heard all roads down were closed, so we spent an hour driving around on dirt roads around the top of the Hualapais. This big Mama jumped off the road, and her fawn bounded down the road in front of us.  I'm sure they met up later.

We stopped at the ranger station to get information.  9 "Women of the Wind" from the Desert Divas chapter out of Lake Havasu were holed up there.  They were soaking wet, and all on their own bikes.  The rangers built the first fire of the Fall so they could dry out, We spent about 15 minutes there, then heard one of the roads was clear enough to get out.

We passed a lot of rocks and sand.  Most of the water from the flash floods had gone down.

This has been full of rushing water just minutes ago. We had considered riding the bikes up there this morning. Probably good we didn't.

Back home, and this is happening off to the North.  My phone just blipped out a severe Thunderstorm warning

Still pretty good in the other diredtion

Dropped about 3 degrees in just about a minute.  A week from today I'll be in Arkansas.  Hope it's cooler there :-)
