July 15. Solvang trip Day 1

The last Supper.  Pat fixed us a nice meal the night before we hit the road.

Lanny likes Jalapeno poppers

Took this for Angie.  We didn't get any Desert Pics this morning.  Stopped in Needles at Juicy's River Cafe for breakfast, then gassed up in Barstow.  We're now on the Angeles Crest Highway (Hwy 2) in California

Diet food

Wasn't joking!  53 miles of curve after curve.  Excellent road!

67 degrees up here on the mountain.  Coldest we've seen it in a LONG time!

We didn't hang around here long

Biglefti

Some good dirt riding roads down here

Ski lift.  Couldn't get Lanny interested in riding to the top. :-)

One of our stops

On a Wing and a Prayer!  We didn't dally around in the curves/

He said I was riding too fast, so he's going to walk.

Looks like fun!

Some creative picture taking

Thanks, Anthony!

SNAP!

Mount Wilson Observatory.  In the mountain overlooking Los Angeles.
Our dinner stop
Old Town Newhall
After a nice meal
Inside the restaurant
Trash cans are dressed in Newhall
A very pretty downtown area.  Market and Main Streets

Looks like an Artichoke plant in front of our Motel room in Newhall, CA
We're close to Six Flags and Magic Mountain, so motels are usually full and pretty expensive. I found this on on line and took a chance.  Turned out to be fine.  Nice large room with 2 Queen beds. And a good A/C.  Next on the agenda--- Dinner....
