Oregon Trip 2013

One of the oldest Wind Farms around. These big babies were put up one and near the Tehachepi Mountains many years ago.  This alone California Hwy 58.

Another landmark on old Highway 99.  It grows a little every year.  This is the Bravo Farm in Traver, CA

This old tractor has seen a lot of hours in the fields

There is a nice restaurant, and several Deli's here at the Farm. And a good BBQ wagon.

Inside the gift shop.  Meats, cheeses, nuts, candy, and lots of interesting tourist souvenirs

Janet gave us these meat balls last April!  They have been in the freezer.  Pat mixed them in some Chili.  The zucchini is topped with Slawza.  An evening meal in the Minnie.

The farther North we get, the more color we're seeing in the trees

Coco, Poppy, and Sophie.  Richard and Alice (Pat's brother and sis-in-law) have the sweetest little dogs.

I was having a snack and they wanted some!

They are building a by-pass around this home of the "Skunk train".  A quaint little town.  The new freeway will probably cause a lot of businesses to close eventually as the customers quit stopping.

A Tie Dye factory!  On the outskirts of Laytonville.  This was the Southern most city that was in my region when I was the US Coast Guard Recruiting Officer out of Eureka, CA.  In the early 70's.

Highway 101

Across the highway from the Standish Hickey State Park.  In the California Redwoods.

Johnny's Marina in King Salmon, CA.  This Marina and RV park was developed by our Daughter-in-Laws family clear back in the late 1940's.  They still own and operate it.

Family privileges gets us a nice parking spot :-)  They are always full during Salmon  and Crabbing season, and very steady the rest of the year.  Several rental apartments, houses and RV spaces.

Out our back window from the Minnie. A nice sunrise.

Don't know how much use this will get.  It's 47 degrees here right now!  Living in Arizona makes you forget that Fall is here/

The old Vance Hotel on TWO Street in  Eureka.  If walls could talk!

A town full of Loggers, Fisherman, and Ocean Sailors docking in Humboldt Bay, this Old Town area used to be full of night life.  And Day life.  Now it's a large, but interesting Tourist trap.  Also some nice Specialty shops for local shopping

Badger is currently vacationing in New Orleans.  He had to hire someone to watch his Den.

Near Henderson Center

Kofi.  Judy's 8 year old Standard Poodle.  A beautiful animal...

Our passports are expiring soon, so Pat and I took each others pictures for the new one.  These will be in use until 2024.  I'l be 83 and Pat will be 90!  Holy Moly, hope I live that long!

Pat's "glue" has held well.
The Office at Johnny's Marina is a real Social Center.  The morning coffee pals, the card players, and the never ending fish and hunt story tellers. Pat's all settled in by the Binnacle. This was made in 1942 and saw service on a Navy Ship during the war.
Gazebo in Old Town

Farmer's Market this morning.  This vendor grew 75 different kinds of peppers.  They were beautifully displayed

Music, Jewelry, Baked goods, LOTS of organic vegetables, and arts and crafts were in the center of a 2 block area

A good time of year.  The Harvest

It was Leeking in Eurida

Just in time for Halloween
