Trip home from Florida

Back of a bus in Mississippi
Crossing the Mighty Mississippi

The "Big D".  104 degrees, construction, and lots of Sunday afternoon traffic.  Was glad to get out of town

Larry McMurtry country!

A train for Kenny

Didn't need much gas, but filled up anyway

The Sisters.  A nice little place to eat in Quanah, TX.

Many old time looking little cities along Hwy 287 in Texas

A Texas Stop Sign.  They probably have more Dairy Queens than any other State!

Amarillo by Morning

Decided to call the new bike "Ghost"  White like Casper, and a friendly ride. And it goes Whoooosh, like a ghost flies.

One of the MANY places to eat in Amariillo.  Not lack of cafe's, restaurants, cantina's, fast food, or just about anything else you'd like to eat.

Cadilac Ranch.  These have been entertain tourists and locals for years

Coolest day so far since leaving Florida.

Texas mens room.  There was a saddle on the wall coming in.  Some pretty nice boots, and there were lots more in there too :-)

1st rain since Saturday morning leaving Jacksonville. This is Monday, will be home tomorrow

Many, many billboards in New Mexico.  I love it!

Prime Rib Cobb Salad.  Very good!  In Gallup, NM

Tuesday morning sunup.  The sun before the rain for most of the day.

Have parked a lot of different bikes and cars here at the I-40 crossing of the Continental Divide.  Used to have nice gift shops, but everything is getting all run down.

Wreck ahead

That car was totally destroyed. Was a bad one.

Almost home

Yellow Knife

Still raining on and off, but reached my new home state

Inside a dark, wet, cloud

Indian City. The Tipi's look different than in the old days

This used to be a very nice private truck stop outside of Holbrook.  It's getting pretty run down now, a real shame

Visitors Center in Holbrook.  Barb Foree puts in some time here, along with all her other busy "retirement" activities.

Food trough

The Phyllis place

Roxy's place

Famous from the 50's.  Unusual to have wet streets here

Close to Jack's shop

The 4E business

That's the "Casa Foree" up there on the hill top.  They lease it from Geronimo's reletives.

Stankin' on the Corner

Across the street

Next door to the Corner

Ghost standing on the Corner

Famous Eagles nest intersection in Winslow, Arizona

A good place to eat, with a lot of history here.

I thought Arizona was suppose to be hot!

Yuk. More rain

Store in Ash Fork, Route 66.  Had rain all the way to Williams, then it popped up into the 90's

Going down the hill into the Valley where Kingman rests

Drained the oil and changed the filter before I unpacked.  Lots of things need to be done on this bike, but it will be ready for my next trip to Logan, UT in about a week.

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing the ride with us. Can't believe all the rain you encountered. From the news last night and all the rain down south it is a good thing you are home. Lots of flash flooding. What a mess. We have been in the 80's and 90's since June. Can't remember such a great summer here in Oregon.
