August 15, Arrived Logan

Sunrise in Utah.  Near Salina, on I-70

We had smoky haze all morning.  Wild fires in the direction we're going.

Domestic Burros on Highway 89.  Not as well fed as the wild ones in Oatman.

After a hot ride with lots of traffic, we got through Salt Lake City and on into Logan.  It's a beautiful city.  This is a Cowasaki.

Eric (El Nomad) brought me some Kuryakyn highway pegs for the Wing (Thanks, Eric!)  Used Lanny's tools and we got them installed without and problems.   But..... the right engine guard was loose.  Took the covers off to get to it, and discovered a broken frame!

Frame beam is broken through.  After a lot of research by Lanny on the computer, we decided this isn't a structural member that will cause the engine to loosen.  It's added between main motor mounts to install other parts on.  So, will ride it home and attempt repairs.

Black socks and cut of sweats?  Awww, Yes!  It's who else but Cranky!

Strange.  A Vulcan Rally with a bunch of Vulcans!  This is just the tip of the iceburg.  Lots of bikes here already.

Memories.  Several years ago, I traded El Nomad a Wing for this Harley.  Then, sold this one to Scorpion, now it's back here in Logan, UT, and lookin' good.

Lanny was a huge help in researching the broken frame member, and assuring me it was safe enough to ride.

Brillo and Deb.  Close friends from years ago.  Need to see more of this couple!

The Utah Chaper went all out in serving up a good dinner in the "Kaw Pasture"

The night is young.  DD and Romy just rode in.  I'm tired, and sort of bummed out about the frame crack, so it's bed time for me.  Hope I get a few more interesting pictures of the area around town tomorrow.  It's seems like a very interesting place!
