We left Kingman around 9:30 this morning, and drove to Lake Havasu City. |
This is the location of the REAL London Bridge. |
Lake Havasu City was incorporated in 1964. Before then, it was pretty much just desert along the Colorado River, up stream from Parker Dam. |
Preston, Pat, and Karen |
Originally built in 1831, this old bridge has seen a lot of Foggy Days. Even Jack the Ripper has probably been across it many times! |
Water from the Colorado was diverted, forming an island, and allowing water to run under the bridge. |
Water Sport capital of Arizona. Lots of trendy shops and fine dining fill the new island |
A Harley Botique. Just Harly Davidson registered clothing and a few small accessories. Extremely high prices! |
Ducks, Red winged black birds, and a few other species we didn't recognize were plentiful. |
Cool day the 12th of February. Not uncommon to reach close to 120 degrees here in the summer time |
Inside the original Stone Cabin. Well over 200 years old, 2 French miners discover gold near here in the 1700's |
The fireplace. Probably used for cooking, and maybe heat in the winter. |
A US Flag flies proudly over the site of the old mine. |
Hackberrystore. Very well photographed Corvette. |
Preston whispering "Sweet things" |
Max the Wonder dog. A famous TV personality. Going on 14, most of his rabbit chasing is in his dreams. |
Ronda has a new friend in the Soda Shop |
Have seen several variations of this picture. It's one of my favorites. |
I wouldn't be surprised if John didn't stop here when he was "Traveling with Charlie" |

Toa, Jazz, or another NZ VROC people must have been here. |
You can't see the last one, but you know what it says.... Burma Shave |
Nice that they warn you |

Climbing up the mountain in search of Fish Bowl Spring. |
They found it |
Nice Motorcycle road |
Scenery from just below Sitgreaves Pass |
Downtown Oatman. Ronda and Karen making friends with some of the locals |
CUTE little Burro! |
Lunch time. The sticker on his head says, "Don't feed me". His little tummy isn't ready for carrots or pressed hay cubes. |
Saguaro growing through the roof. Well, actually, the roof was built around the cactus |
Lunch is over, time for a little rest. |
Skyline above Oatman |
Many shops in Oatmam. Some old items, some new. All interesting. |
Karen likes this "popcorn" blouse |
Oregon tourists |
Local Sheriff is foiling the bank robbers |
Couple times a day, there is a "shoot-out" on main street |
Ronda thought she might take these back to Salem for Bob :-) |
For awhile, a well known group tried to ban feeding the wild burros. But, the tourists and the local shop-keepers won out and now, once again, you can feed the burro's. |
Karen discovers a load of Gold! |
Wheels from a Burro wagon (well, maybe not) |
This came over with the London Bridge |
A photo of the London Bridge before is was disassembled and shipped to Lake Havasu City |
The rebuilding of London Bridge, in the Arizona Desert. Now it looks like it's always been here. |
These last few pictures were taken by Ronda with her tablet. Thanks Ronda. |

Fountain in Algodones, Mexico |
Near Wrongturn and KT's favorite coffee shop on the South side of the Border |
Different kinds of leafy vegetables near Bard, California |

I remember when it was really special to find anything with Kokopelli on it. Now he's everywhere. |
A man walking by volunteered to take this picture of us. All we need is Bob to have the whole Gang here. |
