Kaw Pasture.  I'll finish the rest of the comments later, going for another ride

Nice pool.  But, will be an ice rink soon.  Much too cold to swim in this part of the country!

Visit to Jamestown was wonderful!  You could easily spend a whole day here if you read everything and took time to meditate on it.  This IS where our Country got it's start.

The whole Colonial area is large, with several attractions.  But, the actual Fort where the first settlers were is about 22 acres.  Mostly only men soldiers at first, but within a couple of years some women were there.  Then the British advertised for and sent a group of 90 ladies to be wives, more came later.

We all went to a Movie in the Round.  Quality of the displays and music was like nothing I've ever seen or heard

Abe Lincoln came over here to build this fence!  (well, maybe not)

Our group of the day.  Taken by a friendly tourist passing by.

Monument at the Fort

The James River.  Just across that strip of land on the other side is the Atlantic Ocean

Southern Draw getting advise from Pocahontas.  She was quite Brassy about it.

Some of the original bricks

Excavating continually in progress, even after over hundreds of years. And still finding artifacts that help them understand the history.

Captain John Smith

Ferry Boat on the James River

More Jamestown

Fall IS in the air!

No picture can be taken in there.  Many artifacts, bones, and excellent displays about how the fort has been re-created.

These hooker shoes were dug up and determined to have been worn by one of the Village Ladies in 1607.

1215!  Slammer was a mess cook at the celebration that followed the signing.
