VROC visit

Hannah, Tracy (American Honey)'s 13 year old daughter.  She's sitting in front of me looking up.
I'm very disappointed right now.  I took 50 some of the best pictures of the year today.  John (Slick) and Tracy, Dave (DD) and Romy (Pebbles) Jim & Katie, and Pat and I. 7 bikes, 5 Vulcans, in front of our little house in the park.  Some good, some funny, but a lot of pictures of everyone.  They are  gone forever.  I lost my new camera off the bike after we ate.  I laid it on the foot rest to put on a jacket, and forgot it was there until it was too late

Spare camera, not a very good one.  We're at the Best Western Coronado.  Pat made a large Strawberry pie for DD's birthday, so we're celebrating.

John is looking a little droopy eyed

Romy, Tracy and Pat.  Jim & Katie were out looking for my camera.   I don't care all that much about the camera, but had a new high speed 8 gig memory card with all the pictures I've taken in February on it.

Dave and Romy

If I'd ridden in the car with Pat and the other ladies, I'd probably still have my camera

Red Solo Cups!  Mango/lime Margaritas

A WONDERFUL group of friends!  Tomorrow they are going to Lake Havasu City to watch the Winter Blast.  A World Class Fireworks display.

Since Jim & Katie are on a diet, they brought something to "sip" so they wouldn't  have to deal with the carbs in the mix.

The Birthday Boy decided he's "sip" a little too :-)

John decides to try a little of the good stuff too.

Love this shirt!

A contemplating Katie

Romy wore some very nice "hooker boots"

Dave has the VROC plate from Alberta.

John's new plate.  VROC from Arizona is already taken, I think maybe Tony D. still has it.

Tracy's new 900.  It's her first bike, and she's riding like a pro already!

"Helen".  Jim's Classic

What did we use to do at a get-together before Pads and Smart phones??

Romy taking Goofy pictures of Tracy.  Hmmm.  I remember taking "goofy" pictures of Barb Foree and didn't even have one of these new fangled electronic things!

Saturday morning.  Hannah, Tracy and John walk to Mi Rancho for breakfast.

We had to use 2 tables, the small cantina didn't have a table for 9.  John, Tracy, Hannah, Pat and I had the cutest waitress.

The "other" table.  Dave, Romy, Jim & Katie

Painting on the wall

Another painting.

We had the cutest waitress, but THEIR table got served first :-)

Romy is pleasantly stuffed

Jim & Katie are on a diet, but they were able to get around some of the good food in here this morning.

The front part of Mi Rancho. Good place to eat.

Had to make up for saying DD had the Ontario plate.   Don't know why I posted that, but it's been corrected. :-)   I've ridden too many miles with Skid not to know he has that plate. Even a funny story on it when we crossed the border together :-)

Slick and DD both have VERY nice Nomads.

Katie thinks she's too fat, but I think she looks very nice!  Love the shirt!

A real Mexican Restaurant on this side of the border

Mother Daughter Day in Yuma.  It was a treat having Hannah  on the ride.

Maybe the coolest air filter cover in all of VROC!

Except of Jim and Katie, it's "All the gear, all the time".  I bet some of it comes off before long, will be in the high 70's today.  At least down here.

Jim starts the line up for the photo op.

They are full of food, all checked out of the motel, and ready for the day.

Making up for all the pictures lost yesterday..

Tracy has this nice red 900.  John is carrying Hannah on his bike.

DD thinks "enough of this" and rolls out to lead the pack

Slick and Hannah

Tracy (American Honey)

And our favorite neighbors, Jim and Katie

Since DD & Romy use CB radios for coms, she will ride sweep.

A fill up at the Circle K

A nice family here!

Jim & Katie are going part way, then will spend the afternoon taking pictures on the way back to Yuma

Romy is a very experienced rider.

Dave gets the last picture of the visit.  Thanks to all of you for coming to cheer up our lives for a day!  Sure sorry about losing the other pictures.  Ride safe, we'll be looking forward until next time.

After the company left we went to a Scandinavian Festival in the Civic Center.  This accordion bank is playing and giving dance lessons.

Music groups, dancers, and the audience too was dress in colorful costumes.  I thought the lady here was Angela Lebakken!

Bob Carlson (Bandit) couldn't be here so they put up this picture of him.

Another picture of "Angela" (not)

25 booths with food and things.

Appleskivers with Lingonberry Jam.  We also had Lefse with butter, cinnamon & sugar, and a cone filled with cream and lingonberries.  They had a lot of other things to eat, but we were still full from breakfast.  We also had Kalamazoo Coffee.

I guess this can mean a LOT of things!

All these countries were represented

Comedy couple.

Lots of paintings, crafts, and other interesting things

There's Bandit again!

Zmean1 showed up to swap jokes with Bandit.  She checked her pink over coat at the door.

Wall hangings of all sizes, shapes and colors.

Lutes Canino, 1925,  Main Street Yuma

This couple could REALLY dance.  The tall young man was very graceful and did some of his moves jumping up with both feet off the ground.

All the music was very good

It's pretty warm in Yuma, so it's only fitting for the Civic Center to have lightly clothed people in the entry way

Very busy on the grounds.  A very large wedding party in the back.  Winter league Minor league baseball going full swing, a street rod custom car show, and the Scandinavian Festival all going on at the same time.

Hey Mable!  Did you see those leapin' ladies?

Candy Apple dump truck

I'm pretty sure this is a '48 Ford.  First vehicle I owned, but it didn't look like this!

Cool Cad!  Hydraulic pumps can make it jump!
It was a good day.  Now I have to go shop for a camera.
