June 7. Goodsprings Ride

Going down the hill towards Bullhead City.  These 42 pictures were taken with a camera and a phone, so they aren't all in order.  A nice morning, about 90 degrees when we pulled out of the Chevron Station in Kingman

We picked up more bikes at the new Gas 'n Grub in Bullhead, now heading east in Nevada

Stopped in Searchlight for gas and water

This ride was organized  by the Cactus Cuties, a chapter of the Women in the Wind. The Brunch Bunch was invited to ride along.  I think we had 12 bikes and 13 people.  I'm sure Harley can correct me if there was more or less

The stops were short, trying to get to the destination to beat the heat

And here we are at the Goodsping Saloon.  This area can be rented out for $5 to groups for their own parties

Air Conditioning!  This bar has been in business since 1915 according to a sign out front

A favorite spot for Clark and Carol.  They liked this part of the country.

Karon.  Iced tea in a Mason Jar

Why does this make me  think of Mexico

A National Organization.  Our good friend Susan (Zmean1) belongs to a chapter in Florida

The ladies of the chapter all rode their own bikes

But.....it's a DRY heat!  It did get a little uncomfortable going through the Las Vegas area on the way home.

Finally out of most of the traffic.  That's Lake Mead ahead

Bolder City in the rear view mirror

Harley, Harley, and Karon

Ooop.  what's this all about

Looks like a small sport bike. The rider was already in the EMT truck

Almost to Hoover Dam.  Hot Dam!

It was tempting to go in and cool off, but we need to make some more time before a planned stop

She says. "I'll take my half out of the middle ":-)
The rest are phone pictures.  This trailer was in the parking lot of our meeting place this morning.  A young family with 3 small kids.  What a way to start a weekend.  Maybe Big O can patch it up.

Meeting up at the new Gas 'n Grub above Bullhead City

It was nice and cool inside the Saloon.  We didn't spend much time in here though, headed for the covered outside area with the nice Misters

No water pool, but they have a pool table

A beautiful old Back Bar

Downtown Good Springs

The Center of town

The other end of town

Inside the General Store ordering out lunches

Lots of tourist items

Too hot for a black shirt today

The burgers were a little on the expensive side, but they were very good. Guess we were paying for the ambiance

The temperature was getting up there, but the mister in the overhead  kept it cool

Very pretty paint scheme

Harley and a new person, Phil.  This is her first ride with the Brunch Bunch

Visiting after the meal

Harley says he has a bunch of Brunch Bunch patches for sale. Please cantact him if you'd like to have one

Some REAL Cactus Cuties!

Give us a smile!

The rebuilt Rosie's Den and out buildings

A welcome stop.  The restaurant personnel were very understanding of a bunch of VERY warm riders barging in on them. They kept the ice water coming until we  cool enough to safely ride on home. We also watch their big screen TV for the Belmont Race. We were all rooting for California Chrome...Too bad he didn't get the 3rd crown!

This will be  a destination ride soon, for a meal.    The whole way was fun, despite the temperature.  I'll take a day like this over cold rain anytime!  Nice people to ride with too.  Thanks to those that planned it.
