West of Kingman. Kenny and I were looking for the old Camp Beale. |
Temperature was hovering at 100 degrees. Too hot for the rattle snakes to be out in the sun. Just right for desert rats. |
Interesting..... |
I think there is another way to get in there, but it was too hot to spend a lot of time looking |
This sign is on Hwy 93 coming in from Las Vegas. |
In 12 miles we climbed from 3,333 feet to 6,800 feet. It's 80 cool degrees up here on the top of the Hualapai Mountains. |
We sat on the patio and had a soda pop. There was live music playing over in the Bar/Restaurant. Very pleasant up there. |
The little Dual Sports do everything good. Make riding a pleasure. |
A Squirrel named Rocky. He came up and sat next to us. The store owner brought him out some nuts. A happy Squirrel. |
There were tiny humminbirds flitting around in the tree above us. This is some other kind. A lady told us what it is, but I don't remember the name of it. |
One of the straight stretches. Lots of Mountainous curves on this road |
A working water windmill pump |
That tank is about half-full. It's lined with cement |
The piping must be underground and the valves located somewhere else. I didn't see any on the outside of the tank |
Not a lot, but a steady stream coming from the pump. The honey bees seemed to like it |
A Texas made windmill in Arizona |
80 to 100 in about 15 minutes as we came back down to the Kingman town elevation. |
