Flagstaff trip

After spending the night down in Belmonte, we drove up and got checked into the Black Bart RV and Antique complex.  We'll be here for the night, and enjoying dinner in their Steak House with a Musical Variety show.

Riordan Mansion, near  Northern Arizona University, and not far from town.

The tour lasts a little over an hour.  Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Megan was extremely knowledgeable about the Mansion and had a lot of interesting stories to tell

A breakfast nook.  The house is a 14,000 sq ft Duplex.  Two brothers with their families lived here.

Under this widow seat, the Liquor was kept during prohibition

A beautiful Steinway Piano that still sounds better than most newer ones

The Victrola still works too

The swing in this sitting room faced a large fireplace in the Winter. and was turned to watch the outside garden in the Summertime

The house was pretty much just like it was back in the very early 1900's.  Started building in 1903, completed in 1904.

No lack of wook for the several fireplaces in the house

The Bar in Black Barts

From the old Flagstaff Post Office

Loved the Ambiance in the Dining room at Black Barts

These two ladies are riding on a new 3 Wheel Spyder motorcycle.  They live in South Dakota.  Millie is 86 years old, working her bucket list.  They have been on the road several days.

Back of the Stage

The wait persons are mostly College Students from the Music and Theater programs.  They put on a good show that goes on for  during the dining time in the evenings.  It was fun!

16 oz. Rib eye.  I'm not a big fan of Sweet Potato Fries, but they are better for me than the real thing.  Pat had a nice baked.  We both had hot sourdough biscuits right out of the oven, and a nice salad.

Inside Black Barts

After dinner we walked around the park some.  Mostly beautiful large RV's.  We found this one more interesting than the more traditional ones.

Not far from the Grand Canyon, the  Lumber company owners had interests over there too.  I was interested to see this picture was taken by  EL Kolb .  Last Winter in Yuma, the Historical Society provided us with a nice Garden Talk about the Kolb Brothers,  some of the first entrepreneurs that opened a photography shop on the rim of the Canyon.    The next day, we visited the Pioneer Museum in Flagstaff, which was also informative .  We certainly enjoyed our Mini Vacation in our Minnie Winnie.  The trip home was windy, but we went from 7300 feet to 3500 feet.  Got reasonably good gas mileage.
