Calixico, El Centro, and other points ride

One of our Yuma Palms.  Doesn't require a lot of water.

My Monday breakfast at Molca's Tacos in Los Algodones, Mexico

Took this from a bench I was sitting on waiting to pick up some eye glasses for our friend Marlys.

Jim, Katie, Dave, Romy, Susan, Joe, and Pat.  Too bad Lanny wasn't there, it would be our whole Sonoran VROC.   Jack and Barb Foree are honorary members :-)

We cruised West on I-8, then alone the Mexican border on California Hwy 98. Rode through Calexico, then up here to a little Oasis in the farm fields for lunch.

Camacho's web site said they open at 11 AM, but the sign on the door says 11:30.  We decided to wait. It was worth it.

In Business since 1946.  Lots of interesting history here.
.
Rode the VN900 today.  All Vulcans, this was the smallest.
Romy rides a beautiful 1500 classic, and Dave herds around a very large, but fast, VN2000.

80 some degrees, was nice waiting in the shade.

A lot of customers have passed through this door.  It's a favorite place of the Navy's Blue Angels.  Their Winter training station is not far from here.

We only have 8 days to share with these good friends, We all have to make the most out of their visit!

Not what you'd expect from reading all the 5 star reviews on various on-line food apps.  This is my 4th time here.  Won't be the last
They make all the food from scratch. The dough for these items was still raising when we got here.  The Special Quesadilla was WONDERFUL! light, filled with good cheese.  Would have been a perfect Sopapilla, all it needed was butter and honey!  The Chimachanga was made of the same dough, fulled with Carne Asada and cheese.
Nice shirts.  Maybe they will have some better colors next visit. Black, white, and Camo was all that was left.

Blue Angel pictures.  The walls are covered with pictures of famous people that have eaten here over the many years it's been open.

A poster from the Blue Angels.
We went on up through El Centro, gassed up in Brawley, then took Hwy 78 across the Imperial Dunes through Glamis, and on down to Yuma.  Someone on the vroc group told me that the top speed of a VN 900 was about 90.  This reading was on level ground, going South on Ogilby Road.  Trying to keep up with Dave.  I couldn't.  Speedo was reading 110.
