January 17. 2016

Marlys ran out of propane last night.  This is how I found her this morning :-)
If you're looking for the Katie and Lanny Birthday ride, keep scrolling, they are down near the bottom .

Master Craftsman, Jim, is working on another bow.

Dinner at Lutes.  Can't remember what we were celebrating.

I remember when these stations were open.

Interesting wall decor.  It was a busy night, and very noisy.

Orange tree next to our park.  It's loaded, but think it needs water.

6 or 8 Vendors on Pacific avenue,  Only open in the evening,  A good variety of food.

One of the Cell blocks from the Yuma Territorial Prison.  A tour you don't want to miss if you are ever in Yuma.

Barbara Fairchild and her husband Roy.  They put on a good show.

Barbara's signature song is "The Teddy Bear Song".  A number one hit 40 years ago.  She still does for every show.

Walking around Algodones

Went over for a snack this morning

Well known street

On the way to Molca's Tacos

Pau Mtz.  Taking pictures of customers for them.

The carne asada cooking.  The bright sunshine makes it look yellow, but it's not!

There are many "tunnel" sidewalks down here

It's dark inside, but you can still see the merchandice

Stack 'em deep.  Pharmacy, Optical shops, and Dentists.

They make the most use of the space

Love the bright colors

He sells Cuban Cigars.
Smoking up his profits

An old Adobe on Highway 80

Several stories about what this used to be.  I'm still not sure which one is true

Nice Saguaro near the Hospice Thrift Store where Pat Volunteers

Her area of the Kitchen.  She cleans appliances and tests them.  Nothing goes out on the shelf that doesn't work, and is clean as new.

Char and Keith.  The Big and Little in our Park

From a board to a bow

String guide.  Nice job!

My ride of the Day.  Making a run to the Bank.

Inside Mr. G's Mexican Cafe.  Hair.

Susan's Birthday Dinner.  Katie's is tomorrow.  We met up at the Texas Roadhouse, but because of an extremely long wait, we came here and enjoyed the Golden Corral.

She reached the Double Nickel.  Now Joe doesn't have to sneak her into the Park anymore.

Departing on the "Katie and Lanny Birthday Ride"  They both have birthdays today.  We were originally headed for Mexico for breakfast, but Kate isn't feeling well, so we're taking a little longer ride to Holtville for lunch.

Probably not a good place to be wandering around :-)

We ended up at Hotrods and Beer.  A very cool place to eat in an old warehouse of some sort.

The Bandstand.  Note the Craftsman took box for the sound board
Sherm and Joe, waiting for food

Lots of interesting posters.  Music and Car related.

I think most of them are authentic, but it's hard to tell

From "yesteryear"

I DO TOO!  Well, Ike anyway :-)

No insulation in the building, I imagine it costs a gazillion bucks to cool it in the summer.  Here in the Imperial Valley 120 degree days are common.  It's below sea level.

Not a big crowd.  6 people besides us.

A back room has small semi private alcoves

I imagine this can be a pretty noisy place when the band is going full blast

Rita's Cabana.  One of 2 or 3 outside bars

A couple of pickups hold up one of the other bars

Interesting!

The Rail on the wall is real

Next visit I'll ask what this used to be.

Quads in the Imperial Dunes.

We're in the Glamis Dunes area

Miles and miles of sandbox

Joe (Badger)

Sherm (Hooligan)

Zmean1's beautiful  Vulcan

Sherm's plain Vulcan

Mr. and Mrs. Paradise

Susan (Zmean1)

Not sure if I posted this or not before.  Lanny took this on the Swastika bridge on New Year's Day
