ES 2015 Day 4

A "Sooner State!.  Left Oklahoma City in the dark, was a little tricky getting out of town. Several new highway changes since we lived here.  This was a stop in Shawnee, OK to pick up some things at a Walmart.

Rolling Green hills in Eastern Oklahoma

Lake Eufala. Near the town of Latawata.

Made it to Arkansas!

Holes in the Hill.  I would think it would have been more cost effective to just gone over the hill with the highway.

Springdale, Arkansas. Fall is in the air.

A day early, but there was a cancellation, so was able to get a room.  Will have to move tomorrow to go into the one we reserved for next week.

Nice pool, but the water is cold

The motel is right on Hwy 62

Will be here until a week from tomorrow

There is a festival and car show going on in town this weekend.  The town, and most of the motels are packed

Good lookin' old Ford.  I imagine this evening there will be a lot more like this in the parking lot

Now it's time to install the saddlebags, some other items and get it ready for a week of  riding!
New Harley Botique

Lots of cool cars in town.  Big car show, and lost of others just driving around

Lots of them in a parking lot

Maybe I'll get 80 mpg with the little bike!  No Alcohol!

The Cat House in town

Passing several new Restaurants and Bars. Changes every year.

Down town

Performing Arts Theater

Some things remain the same

Smooth Jazz in Basin Park.  Very good group.

Two level of town in one building

The town is on the side of a hill, interesting streets and architecture.

The "Y"

One street goes up, the other down

Local hot spot

Looks like New Orleans

Art Gallery

Twilight Terrace...Probably more than $20 a night

This would look good in the Crazy Horse Store, along with Connie's other manikins

At the turn of the 20th Century, people came to Eureka Springs for the water.  Supposed to have medical properties.  There are still several Bath houses and message parlors

You can drink water from several of the many Springs that are open to the public

Pink house

Yellow house

Spring Street

This has been around awhile

Beautiful grounds around the hotel

Hotel guests

Many people have passed through these doors

The Crescent

Have had this brunch several times. They have a pianist playing the big Grand during the breakfast hours

Mount Victoria Bed and Breakfast.  Per Capata, ES has more B & Bs than any other place in America

Good Italian food.  Not sure why it's closed today

Soneone wasn't happy they were closed :-)

Texaco Corner. And old gas station and garage

This is were Ermeilo eats

Another nice Victorian

We're having a little ceremony on Thursday.  Lunch here to follow
