Valentines Day 2014

Zmean1.  Valentines Day morning, getting ready for a ride.

Roses and other decorations!

Katie getting ready

Pat and Janet checking out the festivities.  Pat opted to stay home today, it's going to be a longish, and very warm (90's) ride.

Katie sporting a new Tat!

The ladies decorated the Wing some :-)

The FIVE ready to roll

First stop, Niland, CA.  We passed through Holtville, the carrot capitol, now at the home of the Tomato Festival.  Shedding some clothes.

Susan love pink!

Helen's backside

Joe's Voyager is just "too sweet"

Every place we stopped, the ladies had a lot of looks :-)

Looks like Jim has empty pockets

Salvation Mountain. Leonard, the originator and builder, just passed on earlier this week.  He was hospitalized over in San Diego.

Susan is skipping to the Yellow Brick Road.

Inside the mountain.

The young ones made it all the way up to the top.  Someone needed to stay down to take pictures.

They found the easy way down.

The trip down is steeper than it looks, but they are almost to the bottom

We've been coming up here for several years.  It's changed quite a bit since Leonard had to leave due to health reasons.  There are some good volunteers now that keep the place maintained.

The TuTu girls at the Range

Friday nights at The Range, is open mic and other entertainment.  Saturday is movie night.  There isn't as much action here as in the past.  At one time, this was a busy place

Once a year is Prom Night at The Range.  It wasn't tonight.

Dancing at the Prom
Jim going through the trash.  You never know what you might find!

Susan's pretty bike parked on Bombay Beach Road.

Parked in front of Christine's Mexican Restaurant in Brawley, CA

We all had the Special.  Today, it was a well seasoned pork chop, beans, rice, Pica de Gallo, Chips and salsa, and lots of tortillas.

This Valentine's Day stuff has gone on all day!

A little out of order, back to the morning preparations

Gentleman Jim, operating on the sun screen can.  This could be dangerous!

The "Girly girls" in their pink TuTu's.

One of Leonard's truck "homes" at Salvation Mountain

Quite a story behind this place.
A nice Scorpion on the skull

Katie getting some bird pictures

This is either Susan or Lawrence of Arabia.  Headed to the Sea

California Brown Pelicans.  A little rest before going back on Fish Patrol

Gulls and Pelicans

Guano pier on the Salton Sea

Awwwww.  Happy Valentine's Day

Last picture.  From here we headed back to Yuma on Hwy 78 through Glamas, and the Imperial Sand Dunes.  Saw lots of bikes, quads, rails, and all sorts of sand gear out in the dunes.  Got back to the park just before dark.  It was a perfect day!
