Borrego Springs Trip Dec 13

Dec 14.  Jector's, love their burritos.  Price went up a dime this season, but they weight 2 pounds, and you have quite a variety to choose from.

The Ultiment
8 hours later, we're on the shore of the Salton Sea.  Johnson's Landing, a good place to eat.
We had our own private Christmas Tree on the dinner table

Tri-Tip.  Slow cooked and tender.  One of these was cut up for our dinner

We really enjoyed the food and the little old cafe.

Sunset in our dry campground

Moon coming up over the Salton Sea

We like this old deserted campground.

Over 1000 varieties of birds live around the Salton Sea

An old information sign.  Interesting, but a little obsolete
At one time this was a lush RV camp.  Some gang from Los Angeles came in and burned down the Palm Trees.  The other trees and shrubs have died from lack of water.  All the utilities are shut off now.  Camping is free.

Sunday the 16th.  This is right ourside of Borrego Springs.  WHY would Steven and Kelly want to leave this beautiful desert to move to cold rainy Seattle?

Anza/Borrego State Park
We would have stayed to listen to this lecture, but was running out of time

You'd have to be there

Where's that Coyote........

Good quote

Steven & Kelly with friends that were at their party
We are in California.  Hmmm, who isn't wearing a helmet?

Lanny....you take water out, not add it!

Show me your drivers license!

Arriving at the Party House

Star Gazing patio with a nice fireplace

Just like being home in Yuma!

Desert Bunny.  Lots of wildlife out here. Quail, couple kinds of rabbits, Coyotes...mice, squirrels, etc

From the roof top lounge area
Just before sun down.  The Coyotes are starting to YIP up a pack to start the night hunt

KT and Wrong Turn.  That fire felt good. Example of a forced smile :-)

Table decorations

Fire extinguisher please.

Sunset
