First car show & Dave and Romy visit 21 May 13

Dave and Romy flew from Calgary, Alberta to Phoenix and picked up their bikes.  Dave rode to Las Vegas for a Dyno Tune, Romy spent the night in Phoenix.  The both pulled into the house here in Kingman within a MINUTE of each other!  And, hadn't communicatred for about 3 hours prior.  Amazing.

From the color of those legs, you'd never know David lives in Canada. :-)  He had to get the owners manual out to find out how much oil a Vaquero takes.  We changed oil and filters on both bikes, and replaced a cracked lower fender on David's bike. The part was a warranty item. A little tricky to install.

Worked from around 2 PM until 7 PM/  That included a trip to K-Mart for filters and Walmart for Oil.

All finished and put away for the night
These two bikes have a week or more to travel America.  Not sure if they have enough gear for a few days on the road :-)

After a fun evening and a good nights sleep, and freshly serviced bikes, the travelers are ready to roll.

This picture doesn't show it much, but in person, the man looks just like our friend Bill Baxter.

Dowdy's invitational Classic Car show in Dolan Springs.  There were over 50 cars and trucks there. A nice BBQ dinner too.  Our first car show.

Since we're the same age, this '40 Ford was my favorite.

'37 Ford.  Never looked better!

A PT Cruiser.

A husband and wife project.  Carol did all the body work and paint.

Total of 4 bikes were there, none were real special

Offenhauser heads on this old flat head Ford

Under constrction by Dan Dowdy.  A lot of progress since we saw this car a week ago

Milk delivery truck

After everyone stuffed on baked beans, potato salad, cake, chicken and ribs, this was left over!

In the shade of the old Joshua Tree.........................

Red or Black hair.  Depends on where you're standing.  A very pretty lady.

We received this brief case for some kind of an award, not really sure what it was for, but it's a nice case.

After the Dolan Spring show, we drove down Hwy 93 to Old Town Kingman for "Chillin' on Beale Stree", a section of old Route 66.  There were LOTS of classic cars there in the evening.  I was tired and felt we had too many car pictures already, so didn't take any more.  This is Kenny and Thelma ordering Ice Cream inside Rednek's BBQ in Old Town

Unusual Pickup

Cool Bus

The bed of this truck had metal detectors, weapons, camping gear and water tanks.  A real Desert Machine!  Nice hood ornament......
