April 7-8, 9, visitors!

A dry year, but the desert flowers are starting to bloom

Corral with a loading ramp.  Looks like it hasn't been used for a Long time.

The fence is made from Mesquite and cactus skeletons, with barb wire holding it together

Cactus Flower about to pop open

Another cactus, different kind.

Even the stickery ones have some flowers starting to bloom

Barb wire.  Old time cowboys hated this stuff!

Old Bull with 2 young heifers on the loading chute

There is a tiny purple flower in this picture.  Lots of them are tiny, but the desert is alive!

Little white flowers.  This was a very small cactus

Another pretty little blossom

Inside the Mystic Munchies, one of my favorite places to eat

A little oasis in the Desert!

Mighty good food comes from this kitchen!

They added two outside seating areas this year.  Very pleasant.  It was 82 degrees when this was taken on April 9th.

Oklahome plates on this truck, enroute California.  A modern ride down "The Mother Road"

Gas Station in Chloride, AZ.

The thick walled Bank in Chloride.

The old red house. There were people living in here last year, but it seems empty now.

Looks like this has been enhanced, but it came out of the camera just like this!

Chloride was a copper mining town in "the day".  Lots of interesting old buildings and more modern ones here.  Population is under 400 hardy souls.

A good place to eat

Roy Purcell has a small gallery here.  He's a well known painter here in Arizona, and painted some very interesting Murals on the rocks above Chloride back in 1966.

Boot Hill

See, I told you I was sick!    :-)

Karen & Pat in the "Dead Ass Saloon"

Preston, Sherm & Pat

Bar Picture.  Gun fights are not uncommon here in Chloride

Preston at the Gas Station

We were able to get up to the painted rocks.  Last year, I barely made it on a dirt bike, but they have graded the road and moved a lot of large rocks out of the way. This is where Roy Purcell did his work.  I has been touched up twice to keep it fresh.

He was "finding" his inner self.  He must have found it, I think he has some very nice, and very expensive galleries!

Paintings depict many different ways of religion and ways of life

The battery in the camera as on it's last by now, forgot to change it this morning.  So, just a few more before it went totally dead.

Is this the "all seeing eye?"

These talons have a whole city in their grip...

Last shot before the battery died.  Missed some more good ones during the rest of the afternoon.  Tomorrow we're going to Phoenix, and will spend the night in Casa Grande.  Wednesday, a quick visit in Yuma, then back up here to Kingman.  There will be more pictures after we get back.
We have a lot of quail living around the Kingman house.  This little fat one was pecking on our back glass door.

Getting the patio ready for company.  We ran out of time looking for a patio set, that will come soon, when we find one we like.

Easter morning Cracker Barrel.  Pat, Karen, Preston, Neil and Carol.

Hackberry Store.  80 degrees and sunny!

Karen is visiting with Peggy Sue.

Max is 10 years old!  We've known him for several years.  He doesn't get far from his place by the big stove, even though there's no need for a fire today.

One of many old cars and trucks on Route 66.  This is a 48 Ford.

Good Stuff.  There are several buildings full of all sorts of antiques of all ages.

Karen checking out a bee hive.  Actually, this was an old pump room with a water tank on top.

Fish Pond in the Meditation Garden at Hackberry.  Strange for being the desert

Going back to the earth

Old cows

Pat is waiting for the Greyhound bus.  She might be in for a LONG wait :-)

Arizona Cowboys get some serious Kidney stones!
