Lakeside Crawdad Festival & Hudson Ridge

10 May 11. This is the Elk viewing stop on Hwy 38 just East of Reedsport. Our local retread group met up with the group from Florence. We're headed up the Umpqua River to Wells Creek Tavern for an "all you can eat" Spaghetti dinner. I'm riding my little XT250 dual sport bike. It's keeping up fine with the "Big Boys"

This 2006 Ultra Classic is my new ride. It's Black cherry pearl and Pearl Black. Tomorrow I'll have a bunch of better pictures!

Something we missed a lot this last Winter was hearing Hudson Ridge. Our favorite Bluegrass and Country Band in the World! We're out here in 47 degrees and drizzling rain today to hear them.

Jerene, Shelly and Mary Luther.

My light lunch. There were MANY food vendors here, but since it was a Crawdad Festival, it seemed right to have these. We did finish off with an elephant ear supreme and a funnel cake with cream cheese and blueberries.

Bite the tail, suck the head. They were good, but it was too mild a boil for my taste. I like the Cajun spices better.

Cooking them up. There was 2 car shows going on. One for classic cars, the other just Corvettes. Several other shows and lots of activities. It was cold and damp, and I forgot to take many pictures.

The "Leader of the Band". Mary Luther sings like an angel!

Mary and Shelly make good harmony.

Bob & Jerene. A husband wife team add a whole lot to the group. Between them, they play a LOT of instruments. Jerene has a fine voice. We've never heard Bob sing, maybe he's hiding something :-)

Mary has excellent stage presence. Everyone in the crowd is sure she's singing just to them. She also plays the big Bass.

Kevin and Shelly Freeman is the other Husband/Wife team in the group. Kevin was in the first picture. He plays lead guitar and sings the "man" songs.

Mary belting out another one.

Fred Grove plays rhythm guitar and sings. He usually tries to hide when he sees a camera, but he couldn't get away this time :-)
