One of the old towns along Route 66 in Oklahoma.
Lots of good memories along this section of "The Mother Road", from my BMW days.
I think this was in down town Chandler, OK, on Route 66.
This was an old car repair shop, among other things along the old highway.
A famous old barn on route 66 just East of Oklahoma city on route 66
Don Exum's pond on Catoosa, OK. He has a beautiful place here.
A tree in Don's back yard, near the garden plot.
We ate at a Catfish Buffet just East of Tulsa, OK. Don and I Don (Bassman) really enjoyed it. I wasn't real hungry after my Mexican lunch, so, as you see here, I went pretty light tonight. They had a lot of good items on the food line I passed up. We're close enough to Arkansas that they had hot chocolate gravy/pudding on the line. It was very good on top of some chocolate cake
Bassman is all ready for Haloween! This guy dances and sings, blinks and chomps his jaws.
Don is restoring a 1965 Pontiac GTO.
This wrecked 18 wheeler was along I-40 in Eastern New Mexico. There were a lot of emergency vehicles and machinery that had been unloading the trailer from the top. I don't know what happened, but it looked like some other vehicles had been taken away due to the way the median looked. This was the only picture I took today.
Sunrise in the Foree back yard. I've seen a few VROC'er utilizing that hammock in the corner before
Some road rocks near the New Mexico line
The Contineantal Divide.
I have this same picture with several different bikes! It's still fun to stop.
Nice rock near Chief Yellowstone's tourist trap.
Barb is checking out her laptop, while Chunk, Kelly and Don Mardle look on.
Barb is enjoy a nice salad and "meatless Mexican Chorizo"
Jack and Kelly Sprankle enjoying their T-Bones
Don Mardle came all the way from New Zealand just to sit nest to Barb and enjoy a huge "Jack Cooked" T-Bone steak.
Kelly Sprankle and Don Mardle just rolled into Jack's Body Shop. Don bought Kelly's Nomad and brought it to Arizona to have it registered.
Chunk is going to brave the rain from Ike tomorrow and haul the Ron/Cheryl trailer back to Eureka Springs for me. I'm going to lay over in Holbrook for another day to try and miss some of the rain. We spend about an hour doing a super-duper tie down job onto his flat bed. Jack's ramp, tools and lumber (and know how) make it sort of a fun project.
Chunk said I had to get in the picture too...we put on more tie downs after these pictures were taken, it's VERY solid on the trailer.
Chunk and Jack are pointing out some good roads to Don.
Chunk's plate. Jack prepared a very fine meal. thick T-bones with all the trimmings
One of the Route 66 tourist traps in Seligman, AZ. Interesting place.
Elvis and friends on an old Edsel.
Couple of the waitresses out for some air. (recharging their heads)
Carl and Ed getting ready to enjoy breakfast in the Copper Cart. Took a long time to get it, but was good when it came.
Bar across the street from out cafe. It's been there a long time.
Carl's famous beans! I ate too much, but it was worth it. He's a good cook. And they had out the best paper dinner ware that you can buy in Walmart.
Ed and Carl in their Kingman kitchen.
Early morning sunrise at the Ed and Carl abode. They each have a Vulcan and a Harley, so they have 4 little barns in the back yard, one for each bike. The large garage is for cars and Carls small machine shop.
When we arrived in Seligman, the town was full of a large group of motorcycles on a tour or Route 66. Every eating place was full. This is one of Ed and Carl's favorites, the Copper Kitchen.
Our breakfast place. The Road Kill Cafe is probably one of the most popular in town, but there are lots of other good ones. It was a perfect ride from Kingman out here this morning
