June 12

Will fill the 40 oz, Fake Yeti there in the Circle K tomorrow morning

Sandy Hopping in to dinner

Huge McDonalds and other food and novelties here in Railroad cars

Well, we ARE in California  (Sorry Don and Howard) :-)

Being a real Techie, Skid loves ordering from the Kiosks.

Nice selection of sugarfree.  But, still has too many Carbs for me

Sandy having a visit with Ronald

Skid posts a lot of good pictures because he has a fine photographer next to him in the car.  But, picture quality goes down when the windshield collects too many California Bugs.

On the edge of Death Valley

Death Valley to the East, these little hills off to the West.
It's only 76 miles from the lowest place in the continental US, in Death Valley, to the highest place above sea level.  The top of Mount Whitney in the Sierra Mountains.

We're on the West side of the Valley

If Steve T. Could make it, we'd take up a collection to get him this Scorpion

Camping shirt for Zmean1

Excellent selection of books, this is about 25% of what they have for sale

Definition of the High Sierra VROC Gathering

A Rainbow?

Lone Pine Peak is the closest large one, but in the back to the right is Mount Whitney, at 14,505 feet, it's the tallest in the lowest 48 states

Sandy standing on her toes so she can see through her camera

We BEARLY make it out of here without spending too much on souvenirs

A piece of the Aqueduct taking water to Los Angeles back in 1910.  Put in position by hand and with Mules.

Our motel for tonight is in Mammoth Lakes Resort.

Lake Topaz will be our home until Sunday morning

Highway 136

High Desert

Lots of Restaurants and Tourist attractions in Bishop. Also, a Rodeo or something going on.  A very busy Fairgrounds, full of Cattle, Horses and Mules.  and hundreds of RV's. The annual Mule Days were over Memorial Day, a couple weeks ago.

Only around 80 degrees, and a shady parking place for out lunch stop.  I'm really enjoying  4 wheels and all the comforts going to this Motorcycle Gathering

Stopped for Photo ops

Did bring a regular camera this trip, but the phone takes good pictures, and makes it easier to share them.

Sign over where we parked at the Mammoth Lakes Travelodge.  Might not have to worry about snow tonight.
