May 1 to 14, 2017

2 Wings in the Garage.  Pat's brother, Richard, rode down to spend a few days.  He pulled a large camp trailer behind his bike.

This is interesting....because....It's the main entry and unmanned showroom for GPS City, in Las Vegas.  We were expecting a huge store.  It's just a warehouse.  You have to order on line and they ship it.  They don't encourage pickup here, but we were in a hurry for a new GPS Richard wanted. After ringing a bell, we were waited on, and eventually they had his order ready. We had placed the order just before riding up here from Kingman.

Evening ride out to my favorite little store.  Crazy Horse.

Pat and her little brother, Richard in Oatman

Always a fun place to visit

The well preserved, and exactly like it looked, when Clark Gable and Carol Lombard spent their wedding night here.  They were married in Kingman, then drove over the hill to Oatman and this Hotel.

Tame Hogs and Wild Burros

Nothing special today.  Just always a lot of two wheel travelers visit here. Next week with be the Laughlin River run, and the place will be packed.

Enjoying ice cream in the lobby

Those ammo belts had live ammunition in them

S and S made this engine to put into my Bergman Scooter :-)  Well, maybe not.

Ed and Carl setting up for our morning shoot

Carl goes to a lot of work to do this.  He also has heavy steel round clangers, but we didn't use them today

Target practice over, loaded up and heading home

Our neighbor/friend, Debbie on her new scooter

Spotted this in the Walmart parking lot.  This is a REAL biker!

Ordered a new helmet. First time out with it.  A mile or so down the road I put the face shield down for the first time.  Thought my good eye was going bad too. Then realized all the decals were still on the shield.

Testing our SENA communicators.  They work perfect.

Bridget. (MoonShadow) singing on the porch of Anteres Store

The Kingman Concert Band.  A great Performance.

Lanny rode up from Sun City West this morning, then we road out here to Cool Springs.  It was COLD springs here this morning

Our pool Aquasize class having a "going away" lunch for Jane.  We'll all miss her.

Outlet Mall in Barstow, CA.  We came out of a store and several Asian tourists were taking pictures of our Minnie RV.  I invited some of them inside, they all were very animated when looking around.  One of the ladies jumped on the bed, and seemed ready to travel.  None of them spoke any English.

We enjoyed our Shady Lane campground

Only a half mile from the Skyling Drive in theater.  The outside theater is in the original location, totally refurbished.  Has two large screens.  Opens at dark every night.

Interesting items in here.  We spent some time reading and looking

Second largest meteorite ever found in the US.  Miners found it in the San Bernardino Mountains

Another Route 66 Museum in the old Barstow Train Station

Outside of a Fine Dining Steak House

Been here a long time

Mexican Seafood.  As many of the older places here, this one was recently refurbished.

Breakfast at Platas.  I've been eating here for many years.  When they put in I-15 and the new route to Hwy 58, this was taken off the main track,  But, it still does a good business with locals and those like me that remember it from the old days

Hasn't changed much in side

Self serve chips and salsa.  Everything is made right here.  Even the tortillas and chips

Back in Calico.  One of the Bluegrass groups in Calico on Saturday

There weren't quite as many groups as last year, but still had music somewhere at all times.  All are by invitation only, and are professional groups

This guy was on his way to Walmart and made a wrong turn

A whole line of tour busses in and out all day.  Selfie sticks seem to be the thing to use.

Fiddling around

Mother's Day morning.  Where would be a better place!

Busy since the 50's.  Dozens of autographed pictures of singers and actors.  Was a HAD TO place to eat when on the way to Las Vegas from Las Angeles

Betty Booped

James Dean waiting for the restroom

The counter.  Not much change here

Hmmm, who's this guy...

A mother waiting for the menu

Not much spare water in California, so they use flowers that don't need  water.

Cool picture

Huge Gift shop

Angel, this is for you!

Across the street from Peggy Sue's is the Marine Corp Logistics base.  Hundreds of tanks and other military equipment,

Nice having an RV small enough to use the parking lot.

Our favorite group in Calico

Second largest Silver mine, only larger is the Comstock in Nevada.  This is the largest one in California

Lots of the buildings are original,  All the stone ones are

A fun Festival.  Lots of happy people, good music, good food, and comedy

We enjoyed this group.  All had good voices that you could hear well

All the groups were good

We did hang around to watch the dog and pig races.  Sort of fun.

Cloggers.  The leader used to be a regular on Hee Haw, and has performed just about everywhere there is clogging. He now has a school for teaching the dance.  They perform on the road almost every week.

Twins with their side arms.  I missed a great picture of another little girl with a BIG pink pistol. She was having a cap gun war with her brother.

Cloggers

A fun time.  Good clean comedy

This was one of the fire pumps from back in the Day.

We'll see ya' next year!
