Wrap up Solvang 2015

Annual ride to the Miniature horse farm

Cheryl and Katie petting a little one

A full grown male

It was fun watching these kids with the horses

Getting exercise

One of the gift shops at the Cold Springs Tavern

Cheryl and the shop owner.  She makes most of the jewelry in the shop

Lots of "girl goodies"

Hard time deciding

On the weekends, there are usually a lot of motorcycle riders hanging out

An original Stage Coach stop on the route from Santa Barbara to San Luis Obispo

The Little Pearl among the "big bikes".  Was able to keep up.

Cheryl buying herself a birthday present.  Phone is the Credit card machine.

Another Indian for Yvette!

Pretty tank

Coming or going

We ate in this tower on Saturday night

A walk around town

Pizza and other goodies in there

Expecting rain. Southern California really needs it. So far, none fell on us.

One of the City parks

Han Christian Andersen. A teller of tales

We didn't see any vacancy signs on any of the motes or hotels

Lots in interesting roofs

6 years ago, this was one of our first vroc dinner places.  Was Authentic Scandinavian. Now, it's a Mexican restaruarn

Just down the street

VSP went to the Theater on Friday night.  They have both inside and outside stages.  He saw a professional troupe do a performance of "man from La Mancha"

Christmas all year

Store

Clock

Restaurant, winery, and more

There are many wineries in the area, lots of them have outlets in town

They make tiny burgers from a mustard seed. (maybe)

Watermelon Red Crepe Myrtle

Pretty blossoms

Ace Hardware store garden center

Fountain

A little mall

Secret Place

Just another place to eat

Another Bakery

Grumpy Adjusts Attitudes

Thin wooden shingles.  Many of the buildings have roofs like this one

The bike is Phil and Katie on his Nomad.  I snapped the picture before I knew who it was

Candy and other goodies

The windmills mostly look the same

Never have seen so many different kinds of Fudge!

Buffet and menu here

Bakery and coffee shop

Colorful little town

Chihuahua-Yorkie mix.  Scruffy, but cute

This is what the rally  is named for.  Most of the Bakeries and restaurants serve them

Going into the cooker

Before serving, they are coated with powdered sugar and jams

Security guard in a jewelry store

All the shops we've been in are very clean and well staffed

Amber usually is relatively inexpensive. But the setting aren't :-)

Of Course...you can buy Gold

You can go in here and they will take a picture of your Aura.  They dropped their camera, so now it shoots aura on everything :-)

Horse drawn trolley

Leather things

Another windmill

This is the Theater that Don (VSP) attended

A load of Solvang tourists

Across from the Theater

Tune up your nails?

This little Chihuahua mix is smaller than she looks in this picture. She was very friendly and soft.

One of the ticket outlets for the trolley

Passed several Ice cream shops, and a couple frozen Yogurt shops too

Beware. They condition you to buy their products in here

Old World digital watches

So many places

Another eating establishment

Atterdag Square

A popular Bakery, but we like Olsen's much better

Looks like the swap meet in Yuma

You won't forget the prices

The name of this place is Succulents.  Didn't get the sign in.

Thursday night dinner here

The Mexican place a few doors down from the motel

A good way to see the town

Happy horses

Several of the VROC folks ate here.  I have several times, but this year stuck to Olsens next door

Best Bakery in Solvang

We really enjoy our Motel.  Manager is a retired Marine and his lovely wife. They also own and ride a Blue Voyager.

This is the main building, there are cottages, a courtyard, and nice pool and hot tube on the other side.

Always ready. Door man

Gossip bench?

Ray's Voyager trike, and Phil's Nomad

Parking is tight at the Cold Springs Tavern

More pics from the Cold Springs Store, different camera

Pretty bullets

Painting of the store

What it looks like on some weekends

What it looked like today

Lots of history here

Sue and Ray

The band is just setting up

I've seen this creek just gushing with water

California really has a water problem.  Note the beer kegs on the walk way.  No water, drink beer.

We all hope that someday soon this little creek will be flowing again

Really like this place

Pink hair?  Valley Girls coming to the mountains I guess

This fossil set in gold was Cheryl's choice from the gift shop

It will last a long time, fossils do.

Until next year!
On I-15.  I was rolling along at 70, pulling the bike on a trailer. This Gold Wing passed like I was stopped.  It was "The Boomers"!  Ryan and Shannon. Shortly after they were gone with the wind, Shannon dropped her camera. She did find it...in several pieces.  85 MPH impact with the concrete was a little more than it was designed for.  Warranty might be out of the question.
