Starting June with a ride

June 1st.  Ed & Carl came by the house before 7 AM.  Already in the 70's and climbing fast.  We left for a ride up Stockton Hill Road to Pierce Ferry road.  First stop was 60 come miles.  Carl is mushing more water into his cool vest.

We're headed a few more miles East.  Where the Colorado River becomes Lake Mead.  The water lever is low!

Because of low water, the boat ramp here is closed.  We road about 5 miles on a very loose and dusty dirt and gravel road to get here.

Slippers thinks this is a pay toilet from the Anasazi age.  You left a squash or a bag of corn or something in the little square windows, then could enter to use the potty.

Inside the rock entrance.  Someone could have lived in here, we really don't know what it was.

We're near the West End of the Grand Canyon, not for from the Glass overlook

I blasted off from the others from the river.  Wanted to get up here to the pavement quickly, and avoid some dust. Also, since it was getting very warm, it was time to put on the wet vest under the mesh jacket

I left with new tires and a sparkling clean bike this morning..Oh well, that's what it's for!

We all got together again, and rode on to Roger's Market near Meadview.

A small store, but the owner and his wife are really nice folks! The guys come here every week to buy their lottery tickets.  Menu is always the same: Diet RC and a bag of chips each.

Ed, Ron, the owner, sitting down, and Carl (new vroc nic is Slippers)

The Mustang Motorcycle Club of America is having their National Rally in Kingman this week.   When we got back to town, I rode in over 100 degree temps to take a look.

I counted 30 some bikes in this show.  There were many more outside. And, over  a dozen on trailers and trucks, mostly for sale to restore.  Don't know exactly how many were there, but lots. And, from all over the country

I think they were made from the late 50's to the early 60's.  I remember them when I was in high school.  Never thought of them as a REAL motorcycle :-)

Some real beauties!  I liked them all, but this is enough pictures to give you an idea.  It was a good way to start out a new month. And, Almost Summer!  Made it to 104 in Kingman today.  Record 115 in Yuma, and 111 in Phoenix!  Glad we're up here where it's cool...
