Redd's place (long)

WiFi lounge inside the new Fry's Grocery Store in the Yuma foothills.  TV, local papers, outlets by every big soft chair.  There is a Starbucks in there too, and food samples available.  I had something from the Sushi Bar.  Everything is free.  Good place for husbands to kick back while their wives shop!

For Preston & Karen.  Old business for Old Printers :-)  This is on Beale Street in Kingman

Since we've been in Arizona, it's been all work and no play up to now.  The Nutrisystem worked, and my bike goes faster!

Redd & Pepe in his room in the Apache Hotel, Yuma

Top shelf of Redd's bookcase.  Picture of his son, Jeremy.

Redd is growing several different kinds of peppers.

Lots of potted flowers and different kinds of Cacti.

More peppers of a different kind

Redd is very clever with his decorations

Wall decorations

Old sign

Redd built a fire for the first chilly morning of the year in Yuma.  Got down to 44 degrees last night.  55 degrees out when I took these pictures.

Custom seat for a Vulcan Motorcycle :-)  Redd has 4 or 5 seating areas around the side and back of the hotel.

Pepe checking out the seat for larger size posteriors.

Sadly, Redd lost Bull earlier this year.  Pepe is his replacement.  A very sweet little Chihuahua

The fence is all lit up for Christmas already. Redd and Michelle sold MANY antiques this past sumer, but still have a lot left.

Every corner is a little different

Enough plants to open a nursery.  Redd has a "Green Thumb"

Bull's gravesite.  The finger cactus used to be in a pot on our  porch in Yuma.  Pat didn't like them, and they were about to expire, so Redd planted them here.  They are doing well.

Another fire pit and seating area.

Dual purpose planter

Mary in the corner, some Mexican statue in front.  Redd is covering all bases.

Comfortable chairs

The landscaping isn't finished, there will be more gravel covering the dirt soon.  Redd built this nice planting shed for Michelle this year.

The back fench.  The railroad track are on the top of that little hill.  The old Territorial Prison is only a block away, up that hill.

Redd pointing out some planning areas

Baby plants

Exercise Weights.  And some things that just came out of the old hotel, where they are remodeling some rooms

Another corner

Wheel barrow full of Bones and Cactus

Redd found that old crane toy in a cabin foundation at Pauline's Mine, about 60 miles North East of Yuma, way out in the Wilderness

Several different colors of Bougainvilla

The arched piece between the cactus was a wagon wheel.  All the wooden spokes have dried up and disappeared.

Several years ago, the hotel, showing Red's handiwork, made a full page in the Yuma Sun newspaper.  He's hoping to get it back to that condition again.

This side has already been graveled

Redd just gave this stool a new coat of paint.  He calls this his "Big Butt"  chair

Christmas weath and other colorfull (at night) decorations

Side door of the hotel

Very comfortable eating/seating area

Dried chili for cooking

Redd asked me to take this.  He's had 4 serious surgeries this year for deep masses of skin cancer.  He only has a few more to go.

First time it's been chilly enough to wear this jacket I won as a door prize during the VROC rally in Solvang, CA last June.  I rode over here on the scooter today, the coat is very comfortable.  I think Pepe would like to go for a ride too!

Redd relaxing.  He works out here almost every day.

A strain of Oleander.  Covered with these pretty yellow flowers.  Hummingbirds like them

Several of these old wine jugs decorate the fence

A working sharpening stone

Need something sewed up?  or a shot out of this bottle?  It's there for you.

When this center matures and dries up, Redd plans to make a walking stick out of it

The old Apache Hotel

The hotel has been in Michele's family for years.  Redd and Michele work hard to keep it looking good.
