Otis Cafe

Otis Cafe. Was going to have something less traditional, but Yuma neighbor Redd called and was telling me about some minor damage the big storm did to our place down there. I didn't want to interrupt him, so had to make a quick order without perusing the menu to the fullest. It was delicious anyway. heavy baked fresh whole wheat bread, and sausage that tasted like old fashioned pattys should taste!

I don't get to take Angie to breakfast as often as I'd like. This was a nice time together today.

Been here a long time.. written up in newspapers and magazines many times. The famous Otis Cafe.

Angie and Nathan building and rebuilding a robot. Very interesting. Angie keeps on top of it, but the boys are learning to read instructions and do it all by themselves.

This little guy is on the floor. They programmed it to turn when it crosses a white line. It works!

As soon as Angie heard I was coming, she mixed up enough dough for a few loaves of bread. It was hot out of the oven when I took this picture last night.

2 September. A nice bright day for the first pour. This side will take all day to finish, tomorrow they will pour the other side, then next Wednesday, after the approach form is built, and the City inspects it.

9.5 yards makes the truck too heavy to back into the drive without bending up the rebar. So, they are moving it to the back in a wheel barrow.

Just starting. Total job will be around 20 yards.

The "2 engine" Indian is moving right along. Not enough time or money to have it ready for Bonneville this year, but Guy is hoping for next September.

This isn't the fender he'll use, but it's sort of pretty.

This old rocket set a record last year

Sherm's Cycle Products is still alive and well. Guy has had a busy month.

A customer changes his own oil while Guy installs a new tire on the back of this VN2000.

A "burn out" special! 13 to 1 pistons, flowed heads, big valves, and all the other little extras make this Meanie a real rocket. Guy says it will smoke the tire right down to the rim if you want to. Or, wheelie with the best of them, :-)
