Texas Day 5

Heavy doors in Vanderpool, TX

There are many small towns in the Hill Country, they look a lot alike

First rest stop

This was a nice little stretch of road, but not really very challenging. We had fun.

The new  (Boomer Bike), and the older (Biglefti Bike)

Kay, Vickie and the Boomer

Leakey, Texas.  It's had a slow leak for several years, getting pretty small

Vickie and Kay pulling in to the Hog Pen after riding down Frio Canyon

Our lunch stop

Deb is doing real well on her Vulcan.  She's talking about a larger bike soon

We had a somewhat "spirited" ride to get here.  Lots of fun

Not a large menu, but the food was pretty good

We were here early

Brisket sandwiches right off the BBQ.  You don't see a lot of left overs :-)

The owner and employees park their bikes inside where you eat

The BBQ was full....and smoking away.  Ribs, Chicken, Brisket, etc.

This pig got a little overdone

We were the only customers

Thrift store furniture

Left overs at the parking lot

Been enjoying riding the little KLR

Oldies but goodies

The "fire pit"...well, maybe no fire

Blondy, hard at work.  Shannon relaxing after a hard ride

Don't look so glum, girls :-)

After a good ride, and a big dinner

Vickie and Kay

Different camera, back on the road

Looks like a good place

Texas town

Vanderpool, TX

Patriotic store

Vickie taking a stroll

We passed a lot of exotic animal farm on the ride today

Texas white tails

We stopped for a lot of "photo ops" today

These cows were disguised as Buffalo.

Birds and Buffalo

The whole family

This is the guy that posed when they made the nickle. At least he looks old enough.

People taking pictures of animals

Animals looking at people

Ooops!   End of the Trail

Texas plants

Lanny and Shannon

These started out as white tail deer, but the white faded forward some

I know they aren't Mule deer, ears aren't large enough

Kanga and Roo

Hot Dam

Very clear water on the down side of the dam

white turtles

Parked by a Dam Site

The big decision....which way to we go from here

We went that way, but turned onto another road before we got to the museum

Getting ready to tackle Frio Canyon

Ready for the Blast Off

Meanwhile, back at the Ranch.....

Lanny stopping in the middle of the street

Texas goat

The goat ropers come here to practice

More goats

Catching up on the news, waiting to eat

Before going into the eatery, Lanny has to primp a little

A Bavarian Bugler

Inside the German Brew Pub

Waiting for the chow

Coyote (John)  is our VROC administrator.  Thanks, John.  If it wasn't for you guys behind the scenes, we wouldn't have a vroc server.

Dinner over,  Loading up to go back to the motel

Lanny from the Passenger seat

Another German restaurant

Fredericksburg..and old town with a lot of interesting History

I think our attendance is only around 15 people. Sometimes these small rallies are the most fun.  Gives you plenty of  time to get well acquainted with everyone there.

Lanny and Bugsplat.  Note the mirror.  Blondy looked into it and the mirror cracked.  The glass wouldn't hold up to her overwhelming beauty!

See, there she is!

Robert rode down from San Angelo.  We've communicated for several years, this is the first time we met.  Robert is a retired Math Teacher.
Nice to finally have met you, Robert!
