Taos June 17 to

I left Kingman at 5:30 AM.  Met up with Lanny at this Denny's in Flagstaff around 8. Got caught up on all our newsy items, enjoyed the visit then hit the road,  It was chilly up at 7300 feet, around 65 degrees.

Winslow, AZ,  We gassed up at the Flying J, then took old Route 66 into town.

A very well know spot.

Biglefti. Standin' on the Corner.

Hot weather riding clothes

Another corner.

A real manly size guitar

The Eagles did a lot for this little city.

A favorite place to eat. Have never spent the night  here.
 Maybe some day,

Lanny riding in to explore.

Probably the most famous motel on Roue 66.  Right here in Holbrook.

Across the street fromt the Wig Wam, is the most famous Body Shop on Route 66,  Jack & Barb have been good friends for many years.

Jack notices a scratch on Lanny's mirror.  He scraped it inside a Redwood tree in Northern California. Out comes the polishing compound, and the scratch is soon gone.

Thelma could fix her Beetle up like this!

A senior home for old Volkswagens

The first drive in liqueur store I saw was years ago in Louisiana.   Now they are springing up all over Arizona.  I even saw one in Kingman. This one is in Holbrook.
Lanny, Barb and Jack Foree.  Going to dinner at Romo's.

We joined Karl and Bev, and Tom and Julie.

Visiting after dinner

Jack went knocking on doors looking for Bill.  I called the office, and found him "two doors down"

When we got back to the motel we found Cranky's bike next to ours.  He rode all the way from Barstow today.  A coincidence, he didn't know we were stopping in Holbrook and didn't know where we would be staying.  They are discussing Bill's trip tomorrow

.
It was easy to spot Cranky's bike when we pulled in
