It was chilly riding all the way to Mexico today. This was a pleasant place to warm up with a Latte.

Jim's "Dubja".  First time out with the new Wompus Rack and back rest.  We left them on the street, with clothes, helmets and tail packs unlocked.  As usual, everything was there when we returned.

We're almost to Lutes!

Have known Jean and Gary since 1957.  Jean was my first Sister-in-law, and she and Gary have always been close friends.  We had a good visit today, and caught up for a lot of years without much contact.

Yesterday Pat and I picked about 50 pounds of Tangelos. Here's some of them

We crossed the border for lunch at Jose's, and to have our Mexico fix.

We've used and given away quite a few of these juicy beauties already.  

The tree is still about half full.  Tomorrow we'll pick the rest.  The forecast says it could frost tomorrow night, like 33 degrees, so we want to get them off the tree.  Pat will make juice and freeze all we can hold, and we'll give the rest away.

Dinner at the Mad Chef.  Seems almost like old times!  We really enjoyed the visit.

Bill and Barb.  Friends from Coos Bay, are back in Quartzsite for the winter.  They came down for a visit and to pick up some fresh picked Tangelos.  We had a nice lunch together.

8 Jan. Chilly 460 mile ride

The "Half-a-Busa" is a pleasure to ride.  That's Castle Dome in the background.  Hwy 95, North of the US Army Proving Grounds

Desert Sentinel.  There are NO rest stops for many miles in this area.  And, not many bushes either. Fortunately, there were no rattle snakes or scorpions out this early.   

34 oz. Mug.  Most places will re-fill from .50 to a buck.

Boating and Golf are the most popular things to do around here

Going up into the Bill Williams Rec Area.  The Tules look like an Oregon River.  

The Joe Rocket gloves works well.  Was 52 degrees when I left Yuma, down to 46 by Quartzsite, up to 60 in Havasu, then down to 49 when I got to Kingman at 1 PM.  

THE real London Bridge is located here in Lake Havasu City.  Was brough over in pieces and restored.  Cool place to visit. (actually not too cool in the Summer, it can hit 120 degrees here)

Like an old horse running the last little ways to the barn, the Burgman hits a hundred just as the exit to Stockton Hill Road comes up.  Had to shoot fast, camera didn't have time to auto-focus. But, you get the idea. :-)

Cowboy and Indian Country

Corner of our living room.  The house was 47 degrees when I opened it up.  

Was going to fire up the computer, but decided to just swap bikes, lock back up, reset the alarms, and head out.  We have security that reports to Fire, police and EMTs.  Good peace of mind since we're in and out so much.

The new drive way and back garage.  Over a year old now, and starting to feel like home.

The street is pretty bleak since all the leaves are off.  Glad we have an evergreen.  The lawn looks fine :-) We have pink coral gravel where ever there isn't cement.  Got my dream yard.

The sun is going down, so thought I'd stop for a picture of the little Switchback.  The 103" engine in the small Dyna frame makes a nice package.  It's called an FLD

Pulled into Stone Cabin to say Hi to Randy, the owner.  It was 10 'til 6 pm, he was closing.  It was getting dark, and cold.  He had already shut down the grill.  I still have 50 miles to get home, this was the last picture of the day.

January 4th

Amber took a 3 day vacation from the Mad Chef.  She spent New Years in San Diego, and packed a LOT of activities into 3 days.  

Just finished covering the plywood sign with polyurthene.  It has a nice sentiment burned into the wood, that was fading because of the hot sun. Only about 1/2 mile from the Mexican Border here. Next project will be to renew the flags.

The Thomas singers.  A family of 8 or 9, came from the Cocopah Nation to entertain us at Bard last night.  We enjoyed their music.
