Not many bikers here on a Tuesday morning, but on Saturdays, this place is packed

Already over a hundred degrees, but we're having so much fun, it's pleasant,  Jim says it's too hot to wear shorts!

In that little barn is two Burro's.  They weren't interested in coming out to get their picture taken, and it was too hot to walk over there any closer.

Just a month ago this old station was put on the list of Historical buildings.  Opened in 1923, saw the "glory days" on route 66.  A garage, workshop and gas station for many years, with a home for the owner over the shop.  The Hualapai Tribe is going to remodel it, re-open the gas station, and use the shop area for Artisans to work and display the items them make.

The whole building used to be covered with vines, but a few years ago they were stripped off to preserve the rock walls.  The old station is in Peach Springs, on the Reservation.

We're at Grand Canyon Caverns now.

The restaurant and gift shop at the caverns is like a museum.

Lots of good milkshakes have been poured across this counter.

The Caverns are located between Peach Springs and Seligman.  It's a 45 minute walking tour.  Around $20 each.  We'll do it another day when we have more time.

There are several "Road Kill Cafes" around the country, but this is one of the most famous.

Jim is wearing a Cool Tie, so before leaving he decided to pour Katie's Iced Tea on his pants so he can stand the heat better :-)

This barbershop is where the HISTORICAL Route 66 was born.  The Barber, Mister Delgadillo, met with some interested people from Ash Fork and Kingman, and drew up the plans to make this part of the old Mother Road a Historical Highway.  It was a success.  His family still owns this gift shop, and he's still alive

More than one place sells Buffalo Burgers. They are lean and healthy. Not as good as tasty fat beef.

Majority of all motorcycle tour groups are from Europe  Lots of the tour buses are full of Asian or European.

We haven't seen it all, but it's hot, looks like a thunder shower, and we're tired of walking.

Thermometer on the Burgman.  As we go from 5300 feet down to 3300 feet, the temperature rises.  It was 105 in the shade on our patio when we got home.  Another good day.

Wrong Turn is enjoying his morning coffee in a Rush Limbaugh cup!  He was half finished drinking the coffee when he realized what he had in his hand!  He almost exited to the bathroom :-)  He'll see the light eventually..........

112 degrees when I latched up with Jim & Katie on Hwy 93 today.  Didn't take her long to get cooled off.

Pat is fixin' dinner, Jim is drinking gallons of water and Ice tea.

All that's left of the Harley.  Well, at least here.  The bike is still in Phoenix, will get it sometime this week.

The Kwik Kamp in the drive way looks familiar.  Our full time business for several years was as National Sales Manager and Factory Rep for these little trailers.

Summer in Mexico

Roy Purcell is a local man.  He's also the artist that painted the huge rock behind Chloride.  He's a writer and artist.  The Mohave County Museum had a celebration for him today

Along with the Kudo's for Roy, the Hualapai Tribe was in attendance.  The Museum identified some of the authentic artifacts that are part of their history.  They came in this morning in full dress, danced and did a cleansing ceremony.  The museum has made up a beautiful glass display of the pieces. They will remain here for a month, then will go to the new Cultural Center in Peach Springs.

Roy was the second executive direct of this museum.  Since then, he's gone on to bigger and better things. He owns and operates several galleries around the State. A very interesting person, and has worked hard for the community. This picture was presented to him this morning, and will hang here in the Museum.

This Mexican was very interested in Pat's umbrella.  He looked it over carefully, with the idea of making them and selling them here.

A lot of the Winter Snowbirds that come across the Border eat here. Because it has a nice front.  The food is better farther back into the local area where the tourists don't go.

In the shade of these Salt Cedars, is the resting place for our "Girls".  Rosie and Julie are both here.

Someone has done a nice job of cleaning up the Pet Cemetary.  It's on tribal land, with NO TRESPASSING signs all over, but we went back here any way. We were stopped on the way out by a Border Patrol truck that wanted to know why we were back there.

Just under that Plaza Portal is the best Fish Tacos and Tamales in town.  They are excellent!!!

Tury's has been adding more stores and remodeling the old ones. They are my preferred Pharmacy. There are literally hundreds of others over here

Priced 3 shops for eye glasses before choosing this one.  Recommend by an acquaintance  in the Pharmacy that I sort of trust :-)  Nice people in here, good price and service. They have a dentist and an optometrist in the same business. We have a different Dentist that we like already

New Corbin seat for the Kawasaki Vaquero motorcycle.  The knife is interchangeable with a Carbine or AK47

Between Quartzsite and Parker.  I was listening to the NASCAR race in the Sirius Radio, Pat took a nap.  It was 112 at a bank in Quartzsite when we went by.

Sun City West 2 July, and July 4th

Burn out contest.  Lots of food booths, bands, a charity auction, etc.  Lots of 4th of July activities here in Kingman today

Not a huge car show, but about 30 some VERY nice cars.  I'd hate to be the judge!

$3000 scooter, donated by a car dealer.  It's new.  Went for $1300 at the charity auction. There was appliances, furniture and lots of very nice items, all went at ridiculously low prices.  I did bid on a few, but seems like the items I wanted were the ones that others were willing to bid on too :-)  I didn't buy anything

91 Camero RS.  Straight body, new paint, new tires, and a new high power audio system.  350 engine.  Really looked nice.  It went for $2900, and the auctioneer really had to work to get that much

From our back yard on July 4th. A very unusual cloudy sky, but the moon was prettier than the fireworks that were going off.

The Kingman fireworks were about 4 miles from the house.  We could see them pretty good, and hear them very good.  Didn't get any real good pictures.  The show lasted 30 minutes of constant sky lighting.  I liked the moon better, but if we'd have been closer, I'm sure we'd have had a good show.  The larger displays were down on the Colorado River at Laughlin, Bullhead and Lake Havasu City.

Brought the Harley down to the Phoenix area today.  Going to leave it  with D&D Cycle tomorrow, they will install a CB and other electronic components.  Spending the night with Lanny and Jeannie here in Sun City West.  Note the bird on the TV antenna across the street.  A "scare owl"

Moon coming up.  It was a little hazy today, but around 110 degrees.  Monsoon season make it a little humid too.  Perfect riding weather!  I'm going to have to retire this camera, can't get these spots out.  They are internal, and to send it in for repair would cost more than it's worth.  Bummer.
